TOPRE AMERICA CORPORATION ANNOUNCES MAJOR FACILITY EXPANSION IN CLARK COUNTY, OHIO

Monday, March 19, 2018

March 19, 2018 – Topre America (Topre) has announced it intends to add to their growing facility in Springfield, Ohio. Topre America Corporation will add an additional 138,000 square foot stamping facility to its existing 177,000 square foot facility currently under construction. The move will bring an additional 204 assembly, stamping, light manufacturing, and research and development jobs to Springfield at an average wage of $19.50/hour, along with a $73M in investment in a new facility. The project is in response to its growing customer base and is contingent upon the approval of state and local incentives.

“This investment in Springfield expands our plans that were announced for Springfield in 2017. As hoped, our plans to expand to Springfield have resulted in increased production requests from our customers.” Said Brad Pepper Vice President of Topre America. “The Springfield community continues to support our growth and has proven to be an ideal location for our company. It’s simply a community that wants our investment and works with our leadership to make it happen,” he added. Springfield competed with Alabama, Indiana, and Tennessee for the project.

“It is incredible to think about what Topre has done in our community in just 1 ½ years from our first meeting,” said Horton Hobbs IV, Vice President of Economic Development for the Chamber/CIC. “This Project is bigger than their first two and now we are eyeing approximately $130 Million of total investment and nearly 300 jobs! This is a game changer.”

“We are excited that Topre continues to see the opportunity the Greater Springfield Community offers from quality of life, available workforce and ability to help them grow,” said Mike McDorman, President and CEO of the Chamber of Greater Springfield. “This is a great company with proven success that is helping improve our great community. And, perhaps most important, they continue to bring to life an industrial area that had not seen meaningful new investment in decades. It is another great shot in the arm for Greater Springfield!”

“This expansion would represent an incredible opportunity for Clark County, for the Dayton Region, and for the State of Ohio,” said Dayton Development Coalition President and CEO Jeff Hoagland. “As a regional affiliate of JobsOhio, and as a champion for continued growth in the region, the Dayton Development Coalition understands the impact over 200 new jobs would have on Clark County. We will continue to work with our partners in Springfield and JobsOhio to move this project forward.”

“Topre America has been a welcome addition to the Clark County community,” added Clark County Commission President Rick Lohnes. “We are thrilled they continue to grow in Clark County.”

“This expansion is the type of growth that carries forward all of Springfield’s core principles: common-sense development for a diverse workforce that serves today’s community as well as those of future generations,” said Springfield Mayor Warren Copeland. "We couldn't be more pleased or enthusiastic."
