Ohio is emerging as a leader in the biohealth industry
November 8, 2017
Aging societies, global population growth and improved life expectancy are factors increasing the demand for new and innovative health care products and services. And biohealth companies are responding with mind-boggling medical breakthroughs.
Bionic eyes, synthetic blood, 3-D printed body parts, cellular immunotherapy to treat leukemia and DNA manipulation to eradicate disease are just a few of the many advances making headlines.
These life-changing medical advances aren't just happening in traditional biohealth hubs like Boston, San Francisco or New York City. They are also happening in Ohio, giving the state a growing and well-earned reputation as a center of life-saving innovation.
Biohealth leaders from across the globe will gather in Cleveland Oct. 23 through 25 for the Medical Innovation Summit, an annual conference hosted by Cleveland Clinic Innovations. Having this event in Cleveland provides an opportunity to showcase some of the incredible advances taking place in Ohio and to reinforce why Ohio is an ideal place to launch or grow a biohealth company.
